2015 Symposium

Iberian and Latin American Cinemas in Dialogue

Friday, 6 November 2015

The theme of this year’s symposium is ‘Iberian and Latin American Cinemas in Dialogue’, with dialogue here understood in the broader sense of cinema’s interaction with other media, with other art and cultural forms, as well as with other national cinemas. In pursuing such interactions, we hope to expand knowledge of the film medium into interdisciplinary directions, while at the same time gaining a deeper insight into the cultural and artistic richness that inform Iberian and Latin American cinemas. The symposium also serves to promote the teaching of Spanish and Iberian film within both Hispanic Studies and Film Studies departments across the country.
